कटेरी
छन्त्याल बस्ती हो बागलुङको कटेरी (२,००० मिटर) । तमानखोला गाउँपालिका–२ मा अवस्थित कटेरी गाउँमा छन्त्याल समुदायका २१ घर छन् । वरपर भने मगर र दलित समुदायको बस्ती छ ।
करिब दुई सय वर्ष अगाडि गुर्जाखानी (म्याग्दी)बाट दुई दाजुभाइ आएर यहाँ बस्ती बसालेका थिए । तिनताका उनीहरूले डाँडामा कटेरा बनाएर बसेकाले कटेरी गाउँ भनिएको भनाइ छ ।
ग्रामीण जीवनशैली, छन्त्याल संस्कृति र प्राकृतिक सौन्दर्य यहाँका आकर्षण हुन् । यहाँबाट धौलागिरि, गुर्जा, चुरेन र माछापुच्छ्रे हिमालको लर्कन देखिन्छ । गाउँबाट १ घण्टा पदयात्रामा पुगिने बराह तालमा यी हिमालका छायाँ पर्छ । तालमा वैशाख १ गते मेला लाग्छ । ताल नजिकै फुस्रेको थान छ भने गाउँमा देवीथान ।
सिजनमा लालीगुराँसले वनै राताम्मे हुन्छ । वनमा रङ्गविरङ्गका चरा र मृग, बँदेललगायत जनावर पाइन्छन् । त्यसैले हाइकिङका लागि समेत कटेरी क्षेत्र उपयुक्त छ ।
गाउँलेको आम्दानीको मुख्य आधार कृषि हो । यहाँ भैँसी, भेडाबाख्रा र कुखुरा पालन गरिन्छ । कोदो, मकै, जौ, गहुँ, आलु आदि उत्पादन हुन्छ ।
सफा मन भएका गाउँलेहरू फरासिला छन् । यहाँ वि.सं. २०७६ सालबाट होमस्टे शुभारम्भ गरिएको छ । गाउँका ५ घरमा १५ जना बास बस्न सक्छन् । होमस्टेमा अर्गानिक परिकार पाक्छ । साँझ सोरठी, यानीमायाँ र झ्याउरे गीतको तालमा नाचगान गरेर पाहुनालाई मनोरञ्जन दिलाइन्छ ।
आलु, सिमी, बेसार, घिउ, भिरमौरीको मह, गुन्द्रुक र मौसमी तरकारी कटेरीका कोसेली ।

कसरी पुग्ने ः  काठमाडैँं–पोखरा–बागलुङ २७२ कि.मि. । बागलुङ–बुर्तिबाङ–९० कि.मि । बुर्तिबाङ–कटेरी–१७ कि.मि । गाउँसम्मै सडक पुगेको छ ।

Kateri

Kateri (2000 m )is a Chhantyal village of Baglung district. There are 21 houses of Chhantyal community in Kateri village located in Tamankhola Rural Municipality-2. There are settlements of Magar and Dalit communities around.

About two hundred years ago, two brothers came from Gurjakhani (Myagdi) and settled here. They were called Kateri village because they built a hut and lived in a hillock.
The rural lifestyle, Chhantyal culture and natural beauty are the attractions from the village. One can witnessed Dhaulagiri, Gurja, Churen and Machhapuchchhre Himal. The shadow of these mountains falls on Barah Lake, which is an hour walk from the village. A fair is held on Baisakh 1. There is a place called Fusre near the lake and Devithan in the village.

During the spring season, Forests area brightened with rhododendron . The forest is home to a variety of birds, including deer and bundles. Therefore, Kateri area is also suitable for hiking.

Agriculture is the main source of income for the villagers. Buffaloes, sheep and chickens are reared. Millet, maize, barley, wheat, potato etc. are agriculture products grown here.

The villagers are clean and open heart. Homestay has been started since 2019. The village can accommodate 15 people in 5 houses. Organic dishes are cooked in the homestay. In the evening guests are entertained by dancing to the tune of Sorathi, Yanimaya and Jhyaure songs.

Souvenir of potato, bean, turmeric, ghee, bee honey, gundruk and seasonal vegetables can be taken back home.

How to reach: Kathmandu-Pokhara-Baglung is 272 km. Baglung-Burtibang 90 km. Burtibang-Kateri-17 km. The road has reached the village.
